California Woodland Institute is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for California mental health clinicians. California Woodland Institute maintains responsibility for its continuing education programs and course content.

Continuing education credit through California Woodland Institute is available for California licensees only. CWI continuing education courses are designed to meet California continuing education requirements for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Who CE Credit Is For?

California Woodland Institute continuing education courses are intended for California mental health clinicians, including:

• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Associates

• Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Associates

• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors and Associates

• Licensed Educational Psychologists

Psychologists, out-of-state clinicians, and other professionals may attend CWI trainings when appropriate, but CWI does not represent that its CAMFT-approved continuing education credit will meet the requirements of other licensing boards, states, or professional associations. Participants are responsible for confirming whether a course meets the requirements of their own licensing board.

Attendance and CE Credit

CE credit is awarded only for instructional time actually attended. Non-instructional time, including meals, breaks, administrative time, or optional informal conversation before or after a course, is not included in CE credit hours.

For live online courses, attendance may be verified through registration records, Zoom attendance reports, participant display names, instructor observation, and/or other attendance procedures. Participants should join online courses using their full name so attendance can be accurately documented.

Participants requesting CE credit must attend the instructional portion of the course and complete the required course evaluation.

Course Evaluations

Participants requesting CE credit must complete a course evaluation before a certificate of completion is issued. Course evaluations help California Woodland Institute review course effectiveness, participant experience, instructor responsiveness, instructional materials, technology, accessibility, and overall relevance to clinical practice.

Certificates of Completion

Certificates of completion will be issued by email within ten business days after completion of the course, or within ten business days after the final session for which the participant is requesting CE credit.

Certificates will reflect the number of CE credits actually earned based on verified attendance and completion of the required evaluation.

Records

California Woodland Institute maintains continuing education records for at least four years. Records may include syllabi, course dates and locations, promotional materials, instructor CVs/resumes, attendance rosters, online attendance records, course evaluations, and certificates or other records of completion.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Participants may cancel registration by emailing info@californiawoodlandinstitute.com.

For paid courses, participants who cancel at least fourteen calendar days before the first course meeting will receive a full refund, less any non-refundable processing fees charged by the registration platform. Participants who cancel between seven and thirteen calendar days before the first course meeting will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made fewer than seven calendar days before the first course meeting or after the course has begun.

If California Woodland Institute cancels a course, participants will receive a full refund of registration fees within ten business days of cancellation. California Woodland Institute may also offer participants the option to transfer registration to a future course when appropriate.

For multi-session courses, missed sessions are not refundable once the course has begun. CE credit will be awarded only for completed instructional hours for which attendance has been verified and the required evaluation has been completed.

Accessibility and Accommodations

California Woodland Institute seeks to make continuing education programs accessible to participants. Participants who need disability accommodations or who wish to discuss access needs should contact us at info@californiawoodlandinstitute.com at least fourteen calendar days before the course begins.

California Woodland Institute will make reasonable efforts to provide appropriate accommodations consistent with applicable law and the needs of the participant.

Grievance Policy

California Woodland Institute is committed to responding to participant concerns in a reasonable, ethical, and timely manner.

Participants may submit grievances regarding course content, promotional materials, instructor conduct, accessibility, technology, administration, refund requests, non-receipt of certificates, or any other aspect of the continuing education program by emailing info@californiawoodlandinstitute.com.

The Program Administrator or designee will acknowledge receipt of the grievance within five business days and provide a written response within fifteen business days of acknowledgment. When appropriate, California Woodland Institute may offer corrective action, clarification, accommodation, transfer to another course, partial or full refund, replacement certificate, or another reasonable resolution depending on the nature of the grievance.

Scope of CWI Continuing Education Courses

California Woodland Institute continuing education courses are educational programs. They do not constitute psychotherapy, personal analysis, clinical supervision, legal consultation, or case consultation for emergency or high-risk clinical situations.

Participants are responsible for using their own clinical judgment and seeking appropriate supervision, consultation, legal guidance, or emergency support when needed in their own clinical work.
