Ashley Lowe, MA
Co-Founder & Equine Program Lead
Ashley oversees the equine environment and experiential structure at California Woodland Institute. She is responsible for the daily care, relational well-being, and ethical stewardship of the horses, and co-facilitates round pen consultation and equine therapy sessions.
Her role focuses on maintaining safety, clarity, and rhythm within the equine setting. During sessions, she attends closely to the behavior of the horses, supports participants in orienting to what is unfolding, and helps sustain a pace that allows insight to emerge without pressure or performance. Ashley’s orientation is relational and non-intrusive. She does not impose interpretation or drive meaning. Instead, she supports a structured, contained environment in which participants can observe dynamics, reflect, and integrate their experience thoughtfully.
She holds an M.A. and brings a background in mindfulness-based and body-aware practices, which inform her attention to nervous system regulation and grounded presence within the work. Her emphasis is on steadiness, care, and integrity.
