overview
The Round Pen is both a consultation group and an introduction to equine-assisted psychotherapy in practice.
Each session begins with case material. One or two participants present a case, and we begin by attending to the clinical dynamics: what feels stuck, what is moving, what the clinician notices in themselves, and where the work may have become a little too clever for its own good.
From there, we take the material to the horses.
The horses do not offer interpretations, diagnoses, or advice. They respond to what is present: relationally, nonverbally, and in their own register. Patterns that are difficult to articulate in ordinary consultation may sometimes become visible through movement, distance, pressure, avoidance, approach, stillness, and the changing field between bodies.
