Love, Hate, Ignorance

$800.00

Love, Hate, Ignorance is a 12-week online seminar for clinicians interested in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking.

At the core of psychic development, Lacan suggests, are three passions: love, hate, and ignorance. These are not simply emotions we have; they are ways we come into relation with desire, knowledge, the other, and ourselves. We do not have them; they have us.

Through psychoanalytic theory, literature, and collaborative clinical discussion, we will consider how love, hate, and ignorance shape transference, countertransference, attachment, aggression, resistance, not-knowing, and the work of psychodynamic formulation.

This course is designed as an opportunity for play and adventure in clinical thought. Readings serve as both impetus and trailhead. Seminars are collaborative, speculative, and alive rather than narrowly didactic, with space for both textual engagement and clinical application.

Format: Online
Length: 12 weekly two-hour seminars
Audience: Clinicians and anyone interested in psychoanalysis and litterature.
CE credit: Anticipated / details coming soon
Dates: 12 Mondays - September 14 - November 30th, 2026
